Modern Hymns

Below are ten hymns that I have written and humbly submit for your reading and singing.  My approach was to write songs that give the church the opportunity to sing what she believes and confesses.  Specifically I have sought to include the phraseology and vocabulary of the Gospel, including the words “justification,” “atonement,” and the righteousness of Christ that is ours by faith.  Psalm 107:22 says, “Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His deeds in songs of joy!”  The very command of God is that we are biblical and specific in what we sing.  Surely we must declare in song what He has done for us in Christ through the cross.

Although these hymns do not yet include the music, a tune name precedes each one, along with references to one or more song books where the music can be found.  Most tunes are familiar enough that once you call it to mind you should be able to sing the hymn aloud.

If you are a pastor and would like to use any of these hymns in worship, you may do so as long as you include the copyright information at the end of each copy you reproduce and let me know that you have done so.  I would be eager to get your feedback.
